About Deutz-Fahr

Deutz-Fahr is an agricultural machinery brand of the Italian manufacturer SDF. This merged in 1995 from the Italian Same Group and the German Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG. The history of Deutz-Fahr goes back to 1864. Founded that year, ... NA Otto & Compagnie was one of the first engine factories in the world. In the decades that followed, the company changed its name to Gasmotoren-Fabrik Deutz AG (1872–1921), then to Motorenfabrik Deutz (1921–1938) and finally to Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz (1938–1997). During this time, the company's portfolio grew to include the product areas of petrol engines, locomotives, motor vehicles, commercial vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural machinery and plant construction. In 1995, Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz sold the agricultural machinery division and with it the Deutz-Fahr brand to the Same Group, which resulted in the Same Deutz-Fahr Group and later SDF.

Deutz-Fahr in Germany

Deutz-Fahr's 345,000 m² company premises in Germany are located in Lauingen an der Donau in Bavaria. A new tractor factory was built there in 2017 on an area of 150,000 m², in which tractors of the Deutz-Fahr brand are produced. A total of around 40 Deutz tractors, divided into 16 model types, roll off the assembly line there every day. This plant is part of the Deutz-Fahr Land, which also includes a Deutz-Fahr Museum, which exhibits, among other things, vintage cars, and the Deutz-Fahr Arena, in which the most modern agricultural machines can be viewed.
